Areas of Practice
We concentrate our family law practice in the following areas:
MEDIATION
Mediation is a process in which a neutral third party facilitates the resolution of a dispute and assists clients in reaching an agreement, taking into account the interests and concerns of both parties. A mediator facilitates communications, promotes understanding, provides information and guidance for informed consent, and assists clients in crafting customized agreements.
COLLABORATIVE
Collaborative family law is a dispute resolution process where clients work with an interdisciplinary team of professionals to resolve issues. The clients and collaborative team work together in a respectful way, focusing on the unique needs of each family, particularly those with minor children.
CONSULTING
Consulting attorneys serve as independent counsel to provide clients with legal information and advice to assist in resolving family law issues. Consulting attorneys often work with clients who are engaged in mediation and provide limited scope legal services, tailored to the specific needs of each client.
PRE- AND POST-MARITAL AGREEMENTS
Clients may create customized agreements regarding financial issues in marital and non-marital relationships. When clients desire terms which may differ from default legal outcomes, they work in partnership with family law attorneys, or a mediator, in order to create terms and prepare agreements addressing specific issues.
